Edinburgh Preview: Minotaur Theatre's threadbare / by Declan Maloney Drummond

What's your show about?

threadbare follows the story of 18 year old Mia who has had nude photos of herself leaked on social media. A brand new piece of writing/theatre that speaks for revenge porn victims and gives an honest account of life that follows. Based on true events, the play shows the real and funny sides of this ordeal as Mia has to deal with her single dad and boyfriend.

Have you been to Edinburgh before?

Minotaur theatre company have been to Edinburgh many times before but as a cast this is the first trip for some and we are all very excited.

What's the process of bringing a show to Edinburgh like?

It's been a working project since January, we have had to work incredibly hard fundraising alongside university but we smashed our targets with some creative events and lots of bake sales! The last few weeks have been heads down rehearsing and creating the piece which is hard work but rewarding as we are on the final stretch to Edinburgh. As a company the cast and crew have all had to take on a range of roles, unlike others shows it's everyone mucking in together to make it to the Fringe.

What do you plan to do with any free time you have during the Fringe?

Lots and lots of theatre- we are definitely going to support other shows at theSpace venues. I'd love to finally make it to Arthur's seat (I've heard the view is great) and will be dragging some cast members there with me. The Jazz Bar is always a must.
